Osaka, Umeda's underground area is known as a labyrinth even amongst locals. The layout is complex, but if you pin down the key locations, you'll be able to enjoy your shopping and dining without having to worrying about the weather aboveground.

Start by getting an idea of what the Umeda underground area encompasses.

The Umeda area encompasses the six stations below, all within walking distance of eachother.
Aboveground stations: JR Osaka Station, Hankyu Osaka-Umeda Station
Subway stations: Hanshin Osaka-Umeda Station, Osaka Metro Midosuji Line Umeda Station, Osaka Metro Tanimachi Line Higashi-Umeda Station, Osaka Metro Yotsubashi Line Nishi-Umeda Station
You can confirm the respective location of each station on the map. The aboveground stations are connected to the subway stations, so you should be able to transfer from one to the other almost without going outside.

Our first recommendation in the underground shopping area is HANKYU SANBAN GAI

This shopping center is constructed within Hankyu Osaka-Umeda Station.
Located close by the airport shuttle bus stop, it's perfect for enjoying some shopping up until the very end of your trip. The mall has a diverse collection of shops and items for sale, from restaurants to apparel, cosmetics, and character goods.

KIDDY LAND: in HANKYU SANBAN GAI's 1st Floor & B1 Floor

If you want cute things, animated character goods, or want to know what's trendy in Japan, head to KIDDY LAND in the HANKYU SANBAN GAI shopping mall in Umeda, Osaka! You won't be disappointed.

The Rilakkuma store and Sumikkogurashi shop are located on the ground floor, where you can easily come and get cute Rilakkuma and Sumikkogurashi items!

You can find even more shops on the basement floor. First, let's head to Donguri Kyowakoku. You can purchase Studio Ghibli-themed items from films like the world-famous My Neighbor Totoro and Spirited Away. SNOOPY TOWN shop is the official Peanuts shop, where you can find goods featuring Snoopy and his friends. Be sure to check out the limited edition goods that you can only buy here!

And finally, there’s the main floor of KIDDY LAND. Here, you can find items not only from characters beloved worldwide, like Miffy, Hello Kitty, and Kirby, but also Chiikawa-related items, which are currently exploding in popularity in Japan. UMEDA FOOD HALL

UMEDA FOOD HALL is a modern food court on the second (underground) floor of the HANKYU SANBAN GAI's Kita-kan Building, a shopping mall connected directly to Hankyu Osaka-Umeda Station.
This food hall is divided by category into five different areas, in each of which visitors can enjoy different atmospheres and food. There's a variety of choices, from elegant food to food to give you an energy boost, professional sweets, alcoholic drinks, and more.
